“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” (Barack Obama)
In my solitude, I realized that in order for me to become a better version of myself, I need to change. I feel that in general I have progressed as a person but as everyone else, there is always room for improvement. I am a (very) bratty person and (sometimes) I feel that I am the center of the universe but that is only my narcissistic side talking. Imagine talking to all my alters? (Ha Ha Ha!)
Kidding aside, this year I am working on forgiveness. Don’t get me wrong, I may never trust you again once I’ve been stung but we can still be friends. I am willing to move on from the betrayal but trust will no longer be on the table. I’m not a very forgiving person. You fool me once, shame on you. You fool me twice, not gonna happen!
Okay, so I once had a close friend whom I adore to pieces. She betrayed me. I cut communication for almost five years. I realized that the only person I am punishing is myself. Because I am still affected and perturbed, because I am still hanging on to hatred, because I am still bitter. So I am letting go, although there was lack of apology I will provide forgiveness. It is no longer about her, its about me. I am letting go of bitterness to give way to better-ness. I am letting go of the pain and though we will never be the friends we once were, I am welcome to an idea of civility. I am ready. I am moving on.
On a different note, I am sharing photos taken during my recent visit to Rosecliff (when my cousin and her friend, both from Philippines visited me at The Lil Rhody:
This is one of my favorite “corner” and a mandatory photo is on top priority.
As I have mentioned on my previous blog post, The Newport Mansions lifted their camera-ban inside (without flash and tripod) and so I took advantage of this using my iPhoneSE and iPad.
This is be-yond… No words! Literally… No. Words.
This view is not a sight. It’s a PANORAMA!
TIP: When you go to Newport, visit the Newport Mansions website (here) and check-out some Tour Package. Especially if you want to go to more than one Mansion, it is definitely worth it.
Gazillion times I’ve been to The Rosecliff and all 5 Mansions, come 2017 I will try the smaller summer cottages and probably go to Doris Duke’s Rough Point. I can’t promise that I will stop gazing at the luxurious Newport Mansions but I promise to experience other things in Newport.
Here’s some photos taken by Sissy last year:
As I’ve mentioned earlier, mandatory photo…
Thank you once again for reading my personal blog and for your much appreciated comments and suggestions. Feel free to drop me a note (or two!) at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Keep smiling everyone! Xx
