In Portsmouth, Rhode Island there is a hidden gem called Green Topiary Garden.
Most of the tourists who flock Newport and visit The Mansions are not fully aware that a Topiary in Portsmouth is included on the Preservation Society of Newport list. During peak season, it is of great importance to take advantage of their “instagrammable” place boasting of its beauty.
Here are some photos which might encourage you to go there for a photo-op:
The Green Animals Topiary Garden, located in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, is the oldest and most northern topiary garden in the United States. The 7-acre (28,000 m2) estate overlooks the Narragansett Bay. It contains a large collection of topiaries including eighty sculptured trees. (Source: Wikipedia)
I fully enjoy traveling but due to financial and time constraints, I just amuse myself with what I have here in The Lil Rhody. There are gazillion places o go to and almost all of them, absolutely astounding.
TIP: Make sure to plan ahead when you decide to go to Newport and check the Preservation Society (here) for their Operating Schedule. Remember, “If you forget to plan, you plan to forget!”
