Brenton Point State Park

“The purpose of our lives is to be happy.”  (Dalai Lama)

During the Holidays we send postcards as Christmas cards. It is now our tradition since we got married which I think is beneficial to my narcissistic tendencies. Of course The Hubsy just go along for the ride otherwise he will be seeing a not-so-happy-camper for weeks. (he he he!)

Here’s our first photos for 2012 which was taken at Brenton Point State Park:

Brenton Point State Park is a Rhode Island state park located on Aquidneck Island in the town of Newport. The park’s location off Ocean Drive offers majestic vistas of the Atlantic Ocean as it meets Narragansett Bay.  (for more info click here and here)

Whenever we go to this park, I always see old couples which I think are the sweetest thing to look at. They are usually seen sitting on the benches looking at the bay, probably reminiscing the life they had and the love they share. So sweet!

At the Park side during summer they have food trucks and Kite Rentals which added to the charm of the place. There is a place to walk down the beach, fly a kite or picnic. I absolutely just enjoy the bay view and probably will never tire of its beauty.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been is Newport. I am always in awe of its old-world charm.

Tip: When you decide to go visit Newport for a day, never miss the chance of passing by Brenton State Park, it is on the way to Castle Hill Inn  and Fort Adams if you are going there.  Do the Ocean Drive loop (aka Ten Mile Drive) and you will maximize your day in this amazing place called Newport.

NB: As I am an absolute fan of STAYCATIONS, I will share more of Newport in the days to come. I used to work there for almost 2 years and never tire looking at the breathtaking views and people (I love people-watching!) and their sumptuous seafood restaurants.

Keep smiling! Xx
