“You are always a student, never a master. You have to keep moving forward.” (Conrad Hall)
How do you celebrate your Birthday? Me? I made a new blog! It’s called Leya Sun because I am now ready to share more of me to you. I am now ready for something more intimate yet public, something spicy but sweet and something boring yet entertaining. I am now ready to open my life to you and somehow make you a part of it. That, and the fact that I am narcissistic. (Ha ha ha)
Since its my Birthday, I would like to share this photo of myself (with my cousin, Kuya Darwin!) when I was picked by my (Auntie Arlene) to be her flower girl. You see, since I was a kid I’m already exposed to beautiful gowns and this is why I am an avid fan of beautiful things:
(notice how giddy I was on my first ever stint as a flower girl!)
I don’t think a lot has changed with regards to my feelings. I still get so giddy during weddings, still love the girly-look, still love playing dress-up and mostly, still loves the camera.
I remembered during High School (when my classmates were wearing bra and I still have nothing to show) I stole my Mom’s bra and pretend I have a boobie, I stuff it with tissue paper or socks (whichever is available) and sometimes even stitch it so I can wear it to school. I prayed for boobies until the time I had it and then I felt its too big for me. So I guess the moral of the story is, “Be careful what you wish for…”
So aside from age and “my girls” I guess nothing much has changed. I’m still the same person I was when I was a kid, still fancy the same things, still pick the same friends, still love my family however dysfunctional they can be and still believe that as long as you think you can do it, you can…
Here’s my favorite photo when we went to the Outerbanks, North Carolina to attend (Brian & Vashti’s ) super-cute wedding:
(I told you, nothing much has changed right?)
I am now ready to move forward from being just The Lil Rhody Staycationer. I am still here at the smallest but greatest state, still love to staycation at this amazing (amazing) place I call home but I am now moving forward.
You can expect more (level-up) staycations, from time to time visit the same places and familiar faces, explore places I’ve never been, shock my palate with food from restaurants I adore, share my passion with fashion, share my collection of trinkets, tips to where you can buy affordable but trendy clothes, share my obsession with lipstick (yes, not a big fan of make-up but I love me some of those lip-magic), show my obsession with shoes (so Imeldific!) and from time to time, my opinions and POV’s.
Allow me to bore you with my reality and I hope you will learn something from me…
Xx, Leya Sun
